About Our Work

UNC Family Medicine is dedicated to transforming the health care system to work better for everyone. This includes patients, physicians, employers, and the nation. As the number #2 Family Medicine Department in the U.S., we have a proven record of innovation, education, and relevant research. Imagine how your gift will meaningfully advance the goals of reducing patient suffering and provider burnout, improve the health of thousands of all ages, and address some of the greatest challenges in health care.

Support the Department of Family Medicine

Family Medicine Fund

Your gift is used where it is most needed to support highly promising and innovative opportunities in patient care, research, medical education, and community service. Gifts to the Family Medicine Fund have repeatedly been the difference maker by allowing the Department to quickly and efficiently leverage other funding and respond to new opportunities to transform health care.

Family Medicine Residents Fund

There is a dramatic need nationally for well-trained primary care physicians. You can support high value opportunities with no other sources of funding for residents such as outside educational opportunities, the annual resident retreat, enhanced training courses, technology improvements, innovations proposed by residents, and the development of novel faculty-led curriculum to prepare graduates for emerging clinical venues.

Research Fund

Your gift would be used to support our nationally-recognized faculty conduct leading research in evidence based practice, practice transformation, and health policy. Your support could lead to new, innovative, and high-risk areas that warrant larger federal- and foundation-supported studies or actionable new practices.
