Department of Neurosurgery
About Our Work
The UNC Department of Neurosurgery is committed to the principles of leading, teaching, and caring. Our multidisciplinary team offers treatment for many subspecialty disciplines, working closely with specialists from other departments. Our facilities include a state-of-the-art spine and imaging center that offers a full range of treatment options and an on-site team. The Department is committed to participation in team science, partnering with leading researchers throughout the UNC Chapel Hill campus as well as around the state and country.
Your donation will help to ensure that we provide our patients with the latest proven innovations in neurosurgical care, attract talented faculty, expand our research programs, and continue to train our residents to become caring and highly-skilled neurosurgeons.
Support the Department of Neurosurgery
Your gift to the Neurosurgery Educational Fund offers our residents and nurses opportunities to participate in advanced training, travel to conferences, and provides funding for research, while also supporting the careers of the most promising junior faculty members.
Pediatric neurosurgery is a perpetually growing and evolving field, and your gift would provide opportunities for clinical care, education, training, and research for all of our North Carolina children.
Before birth through age 18, Pediatric Neurosurgery provides care, and is involved in the lives of families and their children often for the entire duration of infancy and childhood. It is said that it takes a village to raise a child, and we demonstrate this daily as our fellowship-educated pediatric neurosurgeons work frequently within multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans for children with neurosurgical disease. We are one of only five Level I American College of Surgeon verified pediatric trauma centers in the Southeastern US, and one of the only centers in the Southeast offering fetal spina bifida surgery.
The Neuro Care Fund promotes the strategic goal of the Department to advance the care of patients with neurosurgical diseases, with activities such as building new clinical services and providing seed funding for cutting-edge research projects. Your gift will help to ensure that we achieve our goal.
